Well, summer ended as gracefully as it came. I loved my summer. Loved it. Really, I could spend a whole post on this (and I just might at a later time), but I won't take up everyone's time: all 4 1/2 of you out there. I learned so very much, was loved so well, and felt gently reminded of old promises - all while catching a glimpse of new insights along the way. Like I said: loved it.
Okay - so right now. Things are going pretty well. The estudiantes are as funny as ever. The weather is slowly creeping into fall (!). The roommate is cool as ever. Friends are about to have babies. And Glee (the new FOX tv hit) is sweeping the nation.
No really:
So, yeah. A big thanks to Kanye for not interrupting that performance. (Lamo...you, know...I was pulling for you...)
Also, I just finished one of my new, absolute FAVORITE books of all time: Traveling Mercies penned by the fabulous Anne Lamott. I saw a picture on Donald Miller's Twitter page the other day of him grabbing some lunch with Ms. Lamott. That lucky dog.
This book came at such a wonderful time for me. I felt challenged, humored, encouraged, entertained, and inspired to: a) figure out a way to write like this lady, b) be even more okay with asking God for help in everyday things, and c) convince her to have lunch with me.
The end.
Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday evening!
