This year we went and watched the movie It's Complicated with Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, and John Krasinski (ahem!). A movie about a divorced couple and all things that cause their little situation to become...well...complicated.
In this movie Meryl Streep's character, Jane, owned her own bakery and lived in the most gorgeous house in California. And can I just say: this movie completely captured this idea I have in my head of the coffeeshop/bakery/fair-trade store/flower shop that I would love to open at one point in my life. Jane's shop was a bakery/catering shop, but I was absolutely blown away at the way it was decorated: it was so warm and inviting. Check it out:
See what I mean? I loved it. Absolutely loved it. I love the chalkboard menu, the colors of the food, the lighting. Well done.
Here's some photos of the house Meryl Streep's character lived in:

Holy moly, people. This is exactly how I'd love to decorate one day. I love the neutral colors with the colorful produce and the arched hallways throughout the house. I really did leave the movie inspired from actually getting to see an idea in my head in real-life forms.
And now that I have my Macbook...well, the creativity streams are endless...

Um, yeah. I want to live there. NOW. :) So warm an inviting! I can't wait to have an actual home (as opposed to one-half of a duplex) to decorate someday. I love getting ideas from movies & decorating blogs and such. So much fun!
And now I'm all giddy about seeing that movie! I may go and see it by myself because I probably won't be able to drag the husband to see it. Darn it all.
